What is personalized in the story?

Your child's name and character, their age and reading level, the setting where the situation happens, what usually happens right before it, how your child communicates, the response they will practice, the adult who can help them, and how the story ends.

What happens after I order?

You will receive a short questionnaire, about two minutes, asking about your child and the situation you want the story built around. That questionnaire is what the story is created from.

How will I receive the story?

As a digital file sent to your email. You can read it on a phone or tablet, or print it at home for your own family's use.

How long does delivery take?

Within 24 hours of completing the questionnaire. That time is used to build the story around your answers and check the language, illustration and fit before it is sent.

What ages are the stories made for?

Ages 4 to 10, across two frameworks. Ages 4 to 6 use short sentences and concrete illustration. Ages 7 to 10 use longer paragraphs, more social detail and artwork made for an older reader.

What is the difference between one story and three stories?

One story teaches one response inside the situation your child finds hardest. The three-story path teaches that same response, then practices it through a setback, then moves it into a different setting.

Is this therapy or professional treatment?

No. A Skill Story is a non-clinical learning tool for use at home. It is not a diagnosis or a treatment plan, and it is not a substitute for school or professional support.

What if something in the personalization is incorrect?

Email us within 14 days and we will correct any factual detail that does not match your child and resend the story, once per story, at no cost.
